Emeline Albracht: I have a 66 fairlane, I've put ceramic drums and bolts for shoulder seatbelts. Not much else can really be done, if its a sedan you need'nt worry, they're made of steel, you'll be fine.
Jeannine Vassie: Older cars are death traps. Get a newer vehicle that at least has anti-lock brakes. In fact, I don't even believe lap/shoulder belts were instituted until the middle 1970s.

In the 1980's we started getting serious about training drivers and the number of accidents dropped. Unfortunately the cars can less safe and the deaths continued. Stanton Degregorio: You could probably add head rests without too much costs, if they aren't there. However the cost of adding airbags would be more hten just buying a new car.
