Rebeca Mckin: It may be exciting and new for them just getting married. But imagine waking up to the same face every fucin' day of you life. Most marriages end in divorce any way. And yeah....I hate weddings too.
Forest Duttinger: I hate weddings so much I plan on never having one.Edit: I love Wisconsin! I wish I lived there. I live in Michigan.
Voncile Slaubaugh: I dislike weddings in general, but if it's my close friends' weddings then I don't dislike them.
Coleman Senn: I don't hate being single. I think I'm pretty cool honestly. But being single while all of my friends are pairing off is depressing. And I'm in a small college town in central wisconsin where there is really nothing to do except drink, so it's been tough to meet new people and have fun
Jesusita Dykhoff: I hate weddings as much as u do and feel the same way. The thing is you have been friends for 18 years and if u dont go your friend is going to think you are not such a good fr! iend...Depending on how important the friendship is you should go, you could always leave early- i always doIn all honeslty though most of my friends who get married, change and i never hear from them ever again.....Show more
Lashawnda Anteby: On the practical side of things maybe you could talk to your friend and send a gift or arrive at the wedding to give congratulations and then make it a very short stay.
Branden Roddick: just dont go
Derick Kinnard: Oh my god.I feel the EXACT same way, I could not have explained myself better lol. From my experience it's not normal though.. I get weird looks when I say I don't want a wedding. You can always make an excuse and not go, but you've been friends for 18 years, that might really disappoint her. Maybe you could go to the actual wedding, but then leave before the reception? I know it will still suck, but at least she'll know you're there for her.Or drink a lot, that always helps...I'm kind of in the same po! sition, my cousin/best friend is getting married soon. I used ! to date a guy for almost 2 years, and it didn't work out. They got engaged after dating for a year. I know it's bad, but I'm jealous and I'm honestly not that happy for them. I'm dreading going to the wedding and having to be the only single one there while my [YOUNGER] cousin gets married. Ughhhhh....Show more
Donnie Bolio: Maybe not as much as you do, but a lot of people don't like weddings for the same reasons you do
Tory Clapper: I hate weddings too, but I don't think it is so much because I am single and jealous of people who are in love, although sometimes I am. It's because, like you, I don't enjoy parties, loud noise, lousy music, or pretending I enjoy spending time with people I see once every 10 years. Almost everyone at weddings bores the hell out of me, and it is for good reason I don't see certain people for several years at a stretch. Even interesting people can become boring at weddings.I also resent how some people expect me to know someone so we! ll even though I haven't seen them for 10 or 15 years; they get surprised or offended when I have no clue who they are or how I am related to them. I don't understand how they "know" me so well when I can barely vaguely remember them, if I remember them at all. I honestly have no clue what to say to people at weddings or parties and prefer small gatherings with only a few friends for socializing. It also doesn't help that I am practically a teetotaler besides being a recluse and an atheist. I remember as a child always going to weddings(painfully long Greek Orthodox ceremonies and the equally painfully long Greek receptions) and other functions and being bored to death and sometimes sneaking outside to hide out in the woods(if there were woods nearby, of course). Now as an adult, I turn down invitations to go to these things 99% of the time. I'm Greek-American. They should make a film about crazy Greek weddings; oh wait they already did! They just should have titled it "My ! Big Obese BORING Greek Wedding".So yes I do think it is normal to hate ! weddings.....Show more
Ronnie Barcus: dude, you need to lighten up a little bit. you're depressing me.
Mauro Cowee: Yep.. I feel exactly like you. I think weddings are often boring and I cannot wait to hear the final call for the final dance so I can get the hell outta there. I think it is often "one upmanship". All this freaking out about a wedding, when so many girls just want the wedding so they can wear the "booffy big dress". I myself eloped... I would not of changed a thing. I read the wedding section as I love reading about brides to be freaking out of the slightest thing. Oh, and I do like seeing bridesmaid dresses too.. so I check those out!...Show more
German Thal: Being uncomfortable at big social events is normal, but hating people in love is a problem, and so is hating being single. I suggest you speak to a professional about this.
Cassidy Pangrazio: Only if there is a shot gun pointed at you by a angry father.
Roselee Mczeal: Ho! ney, it won't be about you but about your friend of 18 years so yes, he's right: "suck it up and be a man and a good friend" for a couple of hours. Stop whining !!
Kenneth Thuesen: I still dislike weddings for the same reason, even though I've been married for quite a while. I remember what it was like and how it felt to be in your position. I'd send my regards, maybe a simple gift, and let it go at that.
Cody Petrulis: I HATE weddings too!!! Every wedding I was forced to attend something bad happened. I don't plan to ever have one either, it's such a waste of $$$ and IMO only for those who like to be the center of attention (which I hate!). Every girl has a "dream" wedding! what a load of bullcrap!!You are definitely not alone......maybe you could make a quick appearance at the reception and leave (that is what I did at my bros wedding)....Show more
Shaunta Paap: I Hate Weddings
Marcellus Yoshimori: Its normal to hate weddingsI honestly hate w! eddings because its sooo damn boring. I mean you see the most randomest ! people appear at the wedding just to have free lunch. On top of that, its sooo hot and damp in the wedding hall most of the times and while the bride and groom are having the time of their lives, I sit and much on dessert secretly wishing something goes wrong, like having the whole wedding cake fall down or maybe have the bride slip on her gownI know that sounds mean but its my own little happy place I go to when Im surrounded with dodo heads...Show more
