Obama's health care plans?

Aldo Decurtis: Americans could still purchase their own health insurance through private insurance companies like they do now if they wished to do so. However, since everyone would have access to national health care, Blue Cross premiums would go WAY down, which would in turn allow you to buy the same health insurance for much less than you are paying now.PFO- McCain is offering a $5,00 tax credit for health insurance but health costs in this country currently run about $12,000 per year. So, where will you get the money to pay for the rest of it? Also, that $5000 goes DIRECTLY to the health insurance company- you'd NEVER see a dime of it. MCain will also tax you on your health insurance benefits as well. Doesn't sound so good to me!...Show more

Nilda Bafia: We have two choices obama or mccain under the mccain plan you get 5 thousand dollars and that is it. that does not go very far in a doctors office or a trip the the E R room so enjoy the 5 k while it lasts then ! enjoy the rest of the year because of mccain the year is going to be a financially painful one!

Darrel Stele: I know Americans that go to Canada for health care. There are many countries with government health care England, France, Norway, lots and lots more.My question is why do we support they idea that treating Americans that are sick or dying and in need of medical attention as a business? Why is it okay to spend billions upon billions on an unjust war and deny people medical treatment because it would cost money?I like the library. I like the firemen. I like the police. Why are these okay to have government run, but people freak out at the idea of helping other Americans who are sick....Show more

Tracy Huesso: He doesn't want the government to run health care. He wants to force the HMO's and independant insurance companies who over charge all of us to lower their costs. That would allow more businesses, namely small ones, to afford to offer insurance to thei! r employees and the ones that don't....well, it would be more ! afordable to purchase independant insurance for your family. It's a good plan, really. The only people who would be mandated to have insurance would be children. He isn't going to make adults purchase it if they don't want it. ...Show more

Eulah Hugill: Obama doesn't want "government to run healthcare". He wants to make health INSURANCE affordable and accessible. One of the points in his plan is to make available the health plan that is provided by the government to citizens at an affordable price. Nothing about government running healthcare.

Jonathon Labonne: The doctors that are here now are going to be the same. They aren't going to import masses of third world country educated doctors to suddenly take over. And actually, because of the way insurance is set up, our doctors have difficulty giving that 110% care that we feel we deserve. They often work at a "turn and burn" rate just to keep their practices running. And the constant battles with the insurance! companies don't make it easier. My cousin is an orthopaedic surgeon, and he said because of difficulties with insurance companies, he was thinking he should have just opened a liquor store. He only stays in the business because he cares so much about the patients. I strongly suggest you watch the Michael Moore movie Sicko. If even only 25% of the movie is true, then it is astonishing why America has tolerated being treated the way they have by our corrupt insurance system. Our insurance system isn't set up to help us! It is set up to make the insurance companies insanely wealthy. ...Show more

Sammy Tabatt: Very good point!! Other countries with universal health care have the same problem. Our health care was the envy of many countries

Cody Shimko: Our government needs to grow up and stop acting like children fighting on a playground. The people of America need to step out of their comfort zones and speak up, take a stand, we the people need to make it right b! efore the government controls everything we do!

Valentine Willing! er: You make a legitimate point, the larger problem is that it's not the government's job to manage health care. If they do a bad implementation of a system; we're stuck with that. That's why I want McCain's plan, make insurance companies compete across state lines to offer the best deal, and let American consumers shop around. It's all about choices. Plus McCain is offering a $5,000 tax credit.
