If we are going to teach creation in schools, should we teach every myth?

Betsey Muehlbach: This is the reason the Flying Spaghetti Monster was created. One school wanted to teach both sides, and someone came in and told the story about the FSM and asked that they teach it too. After that, it's obvious how ridiculous it is to teach every side to the story (especially those lacking any kind of evidence)

Cassey Hollinghurst: In proper context, yes. Creation, and other myths, should be relegated to their historical significance only.

Hilton Paiva: yes we should educate our children about all religions so they get the full story not just a piece.

Jorge Gerrero: I would prefer we teach about Odin and his 2 brothers, killing the giant and forming the world out of his body. That's a way cooler version than "god spoke and there it was"

Freeman Rutkin: I learnt at school about religious creation as creation mythology even though back then the UK was still very Christian.

Kip Ockenfels: Hi! I'm a pastor. I believe childr! en should be taught every religion and scientific theory unbiasedly. As a Christian, I believe that the truth will present itself without any official endorsement from the teacher as to what they believe. Educate the kids and give them the choice to make their own decision.

Vernon Martorana: science is observation theory and experimentation to discover relationships. The study of DNA and RNA reveal how information is stored and read and then mini machines assemble the blueprint. This is a discovery that is neither creation or evolutionary it is a demonstrable fact. The theory of origins on both side are taken by a platform of tenants that are not proven making both ideas faith. The laws of genetics are contradictory to things evolving from one thing in to another as the problem of irreducible complexity cannot be overcome be gradual steps. The quantum leap from one to another is not really plausible either. so you have a basis you call science that has no repea! table observable support. The very balance of nature implied ! no random mutation as a random mutation would not be governed by what is needed within the whole of the Eco system because that would be giving intelligence to the choices of random mutations. The faith it take to believe that matter and billions of years equals all things is enormous and the science that is provable is neither creation or evolutionary science. The argument that the order and intelligence behind creation is God is just as scientific a theory that all matter self generated and spawned its own existence and expanded into all we see today. Both are statements of faith. Darwin made his theory after looking at many drawings of animals that were being grouped into their own kinds as the bible said God created them. And PS Darwins only degree was in theology......Show more

Serena Doak: It baffles my mind that even the most religious people still hold the belief that God created the world in 6 days.I don't even believe that the author of Genesis held that! belief. The whole book was a parable, but so many take every bit of it word for word.
